garvellachs

A day of diving with Skipper Duncan Phillips on the MV Farsain out of Craobh Haven to the Garvellachs. This was our first trip on this neat little boat and we had a great time with lovely weather and splendid diving.

The diving on the Garvellachs took us to a site we had not visited before on Sgair Leth A'Chuin. This reef wall drops from 12 metres to the sand bottom at 40 m. The vertical surfaces are covered with soft corals, sponges and anemones and alive with nudibranchs and other wee beasties. After lunch we headed over to 1.5 metre reef for another superb dive along another wall covered with invert life including rare white zooanthid anemone Parazoanthus anguicomis and with Swiftia pallida and the commensal anemone Amphianthus dohrnii.
