Friday 2nd June .

We were picked up at the north pier in Oban and after a pleasant cruise up the Sound of Mull on the MV Silver Swift we settled into our B & B's at Tobermory.

Saturday 3rd June.

It was a wee bit breezy early on but still good enough to let us out to explore to Ardnamurchan and beyond.

Dive 1 - Bo Fascadale
This legendary site is best dived in calm conditions, particularly after a night out. Today we had a swell that was felt down to 20 m so not all that comfortable a dive but still spectacular with an amazing amount of invert life on the vertical walls and ledges.

Dive 2 - Paul's Pinnacle, Muck.
After mooring at the pier we headed round onto the lee shore to check out a site that our skipper had 'found' on an earlier trip. It looked good from the echo sounder's trace so in we went. It was wonderful. An invert covered underwater pinnacle with kelp on the top at 8 m with vertical walls and ledges. Much greater diversity than the morning dive confirming the richness of the seas around this island. We named the site in honour of the skipper!

Sunday 9 April

Dive 1 - Sligneach Mor, Loch Sunart
This was not the traditional NE corner but rather a peninsula that runs west from the SW corner that, again, Paul had 'found'. Another magnificent dive along deep vertical walls topped with kelp at 8 m.

Dive 2 - The Slate Wreck, Sound of Mull
We lunched in Tobermory and then leisurely made our way back down the sound to culminate our diving on an old favourite site. Although the wall below the wreck site is fabulous this is still a great second dive site with the wall edge at 22 m giving a good stopping point on the descent and a shallow wall from 10 m to the surface at the north of the plateau.

Our heartfelt thanks to Skipper of MV Silver Swift, Paul Gallagher, who's quiet tolerance of our antics was much appreciated and particularly for putting us onto such great dive sites. We'll be back in September.
