We enjoyed two long dives to the east of the lighthouse. The first dive with the current took us from south east northwards along the gullies at depths from 10 to 20 metres where the reef flattens out onto a cobbly bottom. | |||
Everywhere
the reefs were covered in Dead Men's Fingers with thick kelp on the
tops of the reefs down to 15 metres. There were lots of fish on the
site including shoals of Pollack ove rthe top of the reefs and Ballan
Wrasse among the overhangs.
We enjoyed our delicious lunch on board while sitting quietly on
the flat calm sea and after circling the lighthouse decided to carry
out our second dive on the east side of the reef. We dived from north
to south but this time with no tidal stream back along the gullies
and reefs.
The weather stayed kind and we motored back to the harbour after
a grand day out - thanks to our skipper Iain Easingwood for his attentions
to all our needs during the trip.
