MV Gemini Storm
3rd to 6th May, 2002

Day 1, 3rd May.

We boarded in Oban on the Friday evening and headed up the Sound of Mull, as the sun set, to anchor overnight in Tobermory.

Day 2, 4th May.

A lovely morning saw us out from Tobermory. In the distance we could see Ardnamurchan lighthouse, another of the Stevenson lights on the west coast. We arrived over Bo Fascadale by 10.30 am. and enjoyed a superb dive on this famous pinnacle. There was no current to speak of and although there was little fish life the inverts covering the walls are superb.

After a fruitless search off Eigg for the barge wreck we headed up to Coll and dived on the reef at the harbour mouth, Sgeir A Phuirt. This wonderful reef is covered in life and the sand slopes at the foot are full of cerianthus anenome.

Day 3, 5th May.

An early start gave as an 8 am dive on the Big Cliff on Canna - lots of jewel anenome.

Next came Godag Reef off the east of Muck. This was the best dive of the trip with 20+ metres ov visibility with the dappled sunlight on the surface easily seen at 25 M.

The last dive of the day took us round into Loch Sunart to Sligneach Mor.

Finally we tied up on the pier in Tobermory again for an evening's R & R in the Mishnish.

Day 4, 6th May.

Auliston Cliff in Loch Sunart followed by Ardtornish Cliff on slack in the Sound of Mull rounded off a great weekends diving and we returned to Oban.
