Colin Macdonald won this years prize for the best slide taken by a member during 2000 with this magnificent image of a tiny squat lobster on red coral.
The photo was taken during the Branch trip to the Red Sea in September and was photographed during a night dive on Sernaka Island.

Other awards were

  • The Claw  - Jim Anderson

  • The Oar  - Gordon Young

Douglas Forman won the raffle prize of a splendid plastic case for all those little bits of kit that finish up under the car seat. Now all he has to do is find the case. £100 was raised for the RNLI thanks to the generosity of all those attending.

On the night we were entertained by presentations of slides from all around the world by Jim Anderson, Ken Aitken, Fiona and Colin Macdonald, Stewart McGinley, Russell Parker and Gordon Young.

The locations covered included Ireland, The Maldives, Ningaloo Reef, the Coral Sea, the Red Sea, Malaysia, Madeira, Malta, Lanzarotte and of course Scotland. The mystery guest sent his apologies and remains a mystery.
